Signs of Winter

Bright, frosty whites and dark, stormy grays
Clear, frozen lakes and cold, blustery days
The  signs of winter are not hard to see
As snow is softly covering the trees.
A fire is burning in a house amidst the snow
Spreading love and cheer with its warm glow
Everything will wake up when it is time
Since spring is the season next in line.

  1. I like your poem for its gentle touch,
Most do not appreciate the snow very much.
The contrast is great with its darks and lights,
Your words do well to describe the sights.
I like walking at night when it’s cold,
for the silence is solid as gold.
The crunch of the snow and the snap of a twig,
Sound clear and loud as though I were big!
I look forward to reading more of your prose,
Under your pen name, Amy Rose.

  2. Thanks, I’m working on another one but I can’t do anything about it at the moment because I’m in the state that hardly gets any snow right now. I’ll have to get back to Colorado before I can finish it. 😀 What do you think of my other poems and of the rest of my posts? Yours is pretty good!!
